The Ruby Group started as the modern evolution of a 3rd generation family business focused on Construction and Real Estate Development.  In approximately 2014, during a very successful period in the group's history, brothers Howie and Pete Berman mapped out a new vision and path.  While they would continue to complete existing projects they would work towards a new future for themselves and the team.  After taking stock of their skills, experiences and desires for the future they made the decision to focus on partnering with others who had an idea or established brand and needed help growing and seizing various market opportunities.

The Ruby Group would become a leader in small business investing and helping to operate new ventures and transform existing ones.  Nearly 10 years later this vision has come true.  The Ruby Group's ventures include several start up brands that the brothers helped get off the ground from an idea to their current successful stage, this includes Rev (market leader in document distribution for municipal construction) and Equilibrium Brewery (nationally top ranked craft beer brewery).  Additionally the brothers branched out into franchising, looking for opportunities to bring brands from other parts of the Country to the Northeast.  Starting in 2015 the brothers began opening Phenix Salon Suites locations in NY, they are now one of the thought leaders in the Salon Suite industry and operate 9 locations across 3 states.  The newest partnership for TRG is with Aqua-Tots Swim Schools.  Started 30 years ago in Mesa, AZ, Aqua-Tots is the industry leader in the United States and the world in teaching children to swim and make the world a safer place.  TRG has begun to open Aqua-Tots Swim Schools in New Jersey.
